February 13, 2009 - Picked up a TOTAN.  She has some cabinet wear, a few issues and could use a good cleaning.  But overall I think it is a gem that needs a bit of poishing.

February 2, 2009 - Just a quick update.  AFM is fixed up and in the main game room.  TZ is in the repair section waiting for an MPU.  TFTC, R&B, SST are in storage with Royal Flush and Star Trek '78.  JY is one switch away from being %100.  I have a new playfield and side art for MB but don't know when I will do that.

September 8, 2008 - Bought a HUO Stern 2002 Roller Coaster Tycoon

August 31, 2008 - Repair log  - Larry, his son and Nephew came by yesterday to help me test Scared Stiff and Monster Bash.  And the week before they came by and found an issue with Indiana Jone's Path Of Adventure.  So I used pulling the POA as an excude to install two Cliffy protectors.  The Mode Hole needed POA removed and I installed the 3-Back protector.  While the 3-Bank drop target was down I re-flowed solder on a light socket.  Still need one more screw for the SS crate and did some MB bulbs.  Looks like I need to check Dracs gutiar.  Solder or connector.

August 29, 2008 - The last of my "Must Own" games enters the game room.  Welcome home Monster Bash.  Needs new cabinet decals, but plays like a chrome dream.

August 25, 2008 - Repair log - fixed Orthanic diverter on LOTR.  G.I. fuse blows in Monopoly.

August 24, 2008 - Bought a Scared Stiff from Jack James in NJ.  She is sitting happy next to EatPM.

August 13th, 2008 - The Monster Bash deal fell through.  I am devistated by this one.  But I end up with a Judge Dredd.  Oh joy.

August 2008 - Should be getting a Scared Stiff and a Monster Bash soon...more to come

July 22, 2008 - Picked up a HUO Pirates of the Caribbean.  Less than 100 plays when I got it.  Put another 100 plays on to knock the high scores off.

July10, 2008 - Picked up a HUO Monopoly from a friend moving to Florida.  Thanks Leigh, I'll get you score off soon ;-)

June 24, 2008 - Picked up a Terminator 2 from Craigslist.

April 28, 2008 - Found 4 bad diodes in The Addams Family mansion board.  Replaced and it lit up like a Christmas Tree.  Also replaced the bad Transistor in Lord Of The Rings that caused the Helm's Deep Right flashers to stay on.  Now it is 100%.

April 21, 2008 - Getting ready for some major repairs.  I need TZ ready for the RGPL game in a couple of weeks.  There is a Transistor on LOTR that needs replacing to make a flasher work and I need to reflow some solder on TAF.  So I picked up a nice Hakko solder station.  Should have done that years ago.

April 14, 2008 - Ordered a load of parts from PinballLife (again).  Some transistors and stuff to make sure my parts bins are full but also a bunch of Molex connectors and Trifucon pins.  I think I am going to redo most of the TZ connectors that even look funny.

April 4, 2008 - PinBald goes Live!

March 2008 - Installing Cliffy Protectors.  After deciding I wanted one on my new Lord of the Rings machines I decided to get them for Elvira's ramps, Addam Family electric chair, Twilight Zone slot scoop, Indiana jones... you get the idea, I have been busy.

October 27, 2007 - Arcade Party I went to an Arcade party thrown by Tony "Tron" Girasoliin CT. Very nice party, thanks again Tony. Family oriented with plenty of soda and munchies and 80's themed, not only with the games, but also from the Jukebox music setting a wonderful atmosphere (I would never have tolerated the Village People anywhere else). Tony has a dozen games (two of them use to be mine) and kept track of the high score on each and has that person wear a glow stick. I had to show my salt and put on a few high scores. The party ran from 1:00 to 5:00 but I arrived at 1:30 and had to leave at 4:00. I thought it was best before the crowd turned on me, I held five glow sticks at the time. No, they were not scores to be too proud of but it set some bars for people to strive for in the last hour. Except Star Castle, I only played one game and I got over 19K+, the all time high was set the year before at 18K+. I know they were on a mission to take my Tempest 154K+ score but I own two of each of those games, I did not come here to play games I owned. I came for EDOT, never played it as a kid, now I might have to get one. The other high scores were in Space Invaders, Donkey Kong and Asteroids. Only the Asteroids was beaten so here is a picture of me with four glow sticks

September 2, 2007 - Repair log Replaced batteries in about 7 pins. Fixed right flipper on Creech (cracked pawl) and finally installed the hologram kit.

August 27, 2007 Picked up an Asteroids cabaret from a friend of a friend deal. Goes nice in the living room. My living room right now has a Cabaret Asteroids, OutRun mini, Berzerk, Joust cocktail, Phoenix cocktail and an old MK-II running Daphne. I really should bring the mini Tempest in next to the Asteroids.

August 24, 2007 - Well, I am sending some money off to Texas. I am a little worries after getting ripped off by Jesus in Florida or a Lord of Gun board for my Lethal Enforcers cabinet. But this guy Garry Rogers seem very cool and knows his stuff. I would love to have the gun game up and running. I am getting a Lethal Enforcers, Lethal Enforcers II and Lord of Gun PCBs from him. They should all work in that cabinet.

August 20, 2007 I have begun restoring the OutRun mini. I got the sound problem fixed, the glass marquee in place and the force feedback working. I just need to do the marquee, steering wheel and maybe the start button.

Update: Thanks again Joe (jcarcade) for the parts. He is one of those cool guys who just gives you his spare parts because he want to see the game up and running. He gave me a bezel, steering wheel emblem and the parts needed to get the force feedback working. Guys like this give you faith and I make sure to try and pass that along.

Work continues with the trailer Front , Back

August 11, 2007 Have not bought anything in a while but with my love for Vector games I could not pass this one up. I picked up another Tempest. I figured if it had better side art or control panel than mine I could swap and sell. But when I got there I found it was a cabaret version. Very nice condition. No side art on the cabarets of course (that damn wood laminate stuff) but it was not worn, burnt or banged up. Just a small nick in the CP and the back was screwed in with the usual wood chipped from being pryed open. As soon as I get the monitor all set it will be a nice example. Now the question is to keep or sell.

May 28, 2007 Took a Battlezone cabinet to the cabin, put it on a campfire, soaked in torch oild and with a few fireworks inside. Don't worry folks, the bottom was 2 inches thick from being water logged. This was my first BZ cabinet. I had no idea I would end up with 4 of them.

On the way to the cabin I picked up a non-working touch screen monitor that was posted "FF" in Holyoke MA (Thanks Quin). I hope to make a touch-screen Jukebox someday.

May 22, 2007
Mailed my MS-PACMAN JAMMA board to a guy in Florida in exchange for his "Lord of Gun" board. All I should have to do to make this work in my Leathal Enforcers cabinet is reverse the gun wires.

Update - Ripped off by Jesus in Kissimmee Florida. He kept my MS-PACMAN board and never sent the Lord of Gun. Stopped responding to email and phone calls. No his work email bounces, I hope the bastard got fired.

May 18, 2007 Got Mark Spaeth's Frenzy/Bezerk Multi-Board. How cool is that. I just have to do a little wood work on the fron of the game (pushed in where door is) and it goes into the game room. I already have the Berzerk marquee to put on. A new CP overlay would be nice.

April 25, 2007 Tony's Defender goes to Walter's house. After three tries getting his Defender cocktail working then having it go out again I am sick of it. Tony had this thing bullet-proofed so it should be good for quite a while. I am making Walt hold the cocktail until I get room. I never have room and moving a cocktail around is more difficult than an upright.

April 24, 2007 Repair Log:I brought OutRun mini to an outside party for some boy scouts lat year. Near the end the sound went out. It sat in the garage until this week I decided to trace the problem. Did the usual wire check and connector reseat but no dice. Pulled out the schematics to see what specific areas or connectors assemblies I should be checking. Long story short there is an amplifier circuit, with a fuse. The F4 fuse was blown. Someone put a 3Amp fuse in where a 6Amp is suppose to go. I could not find a 6 so I threw in a 5. I figure if the 3Amp fuse held out that long the 5Amp should do good for a while. Besides, never put a larger one in place since it is protecting something for a reason. I wish all fixes were that easy. Now if I get a good marquee and hook up the force feedback it goes from the garage to the collection. Classic game. (see updates above. BTW: the 5 I put in was a 2.5 and kept blowing)

April 15, 2007 Repair Log:Lethal Enforcers is a POS. Every wire was spiced, 4 of the 6 PCB mount are broken off on the PCB. It was warpped so bad one of the chips was snapped. Oh well, never deal with Hector in Pawling NY.

April 10, 2007 Picked up a Lethal Enforceres that won't boot for $150 off CraigsList. Comes up with an error message so at least I know I have a nice 25" monitor and 2 guns for my money. Heavy sucker.

April 2, 2007 More from Scott, picked up a load of PCBs from him (working and not) and a few CPs. I may have to sell a few of these. I need to redo this website and have a nice for sale section.

March 27, 2007 Good-Guy alert to Scott "Thrushguy" Garon (http://www.agelessarcade.com/). He sold me and as-is Hydra for $100 so nothing else was expected. When I asked him a question about a sound problem I was having said he might have a spare. Sure enough he came up with a full boardset and wanted nothing in return. Sure enough I was able to get it up and running. Thanks Scott.

March 25, 2007 Future Spa and Space Invaders go to the "gone but not forgotten" list. I traded Tony "Tron" a Midway Space Invaders and Future Spa pinball machine for a Defender. I know I got the short end of the deal money-wise but that's not everything in life, I needed the room. Besides, the Defender cocktail I got for my friend Walter is down for the third time. So he will probably get this. The Space Invaders had a Bit issue (according to the Brazinton kit installed, another bonus) and Tony wanted a project. I was going to give him the Touchdown project but since he is new to pins I thought the Future Spa would be better. It works but probably needs a few sockets (like so many Bally machines from the era do). The Touchdown need too much work. I will probably throw that too him also if he has room. Maybe I will bring it too him when I come to play his EDOT (Ya hear that Tony). I'm sure Tony's Arcade website will mention some of this and after all, here is what he went through to get a bulletproof Defender.

In order to get Space Invaders ready for Tony to pickup I had to pull quite a few things out of the garage. While they were out I decided to work on my Zaxxon. I had one that worked but I did not like the cabinet condition and the pistol grip was a joystick. So I bought a dead Zaxxon for a pretty good deal that had a better cabinet and a heavily worn CP, but with a pistol grip. I figureed the first thing to do was test the monitor and boardset in the non-working Zaxxon to see if anything could be salvaged or even left in the cabinet for the swap. Well, after drilling the locks and reseatting cables I ended up with another working Zaxxon. Sure the monitor could use a cap kit, but I am happy over this one. At least I will be if I either sell the other one or pull the boardset as a spare. Once again I don't have room so I want one gone.

March 4, 2007 Forgotten Worlds goes onto the "gone but not forgotten" list. Even thought in a way it is forgotten (get it). Chris "Riddler" Alcott picked it up while driving from Maine to Maryland. He told me back in October he would find a way to get it and he did. Enjoy.

March 1, 2007 What do you get when you pay $50 for a TRON? You get a $40 TRON. It was listed on CraigsList for $500 in Bridgeport. As soon as I saw how bad it was I offered her $50 out of pity and pointed out what was wrong. I said think about it and get back to me. I guess she realized it was as trashed as I said it was. The bottom fell off while moving. Boards laying on the bottom. Side art stinks. So the cabinet is trash, but still a lot of salvagable parts.

February 23, 2007 Picked up an Atari Hydra for ThrushGuy (thanks Scott) No, I don't need it. I don't have room for it. I have never played it. But when you see a near by post from someone you have had good deals with before saying "$100 - Working", you just can't say no.

February, 10, 2007 Picked up a beat up, non working Star Castle and a Frenzy. The Star Castle is beat-up but still better than the one I have. So this is a Cabinet swap. Frenzy is working but in a Berzerk cabinet. I am going to try to convert it back with a Berzerk/Frenzy multi-board and a Berzerk marquee.

December 1, 2006 Christmas came early for me. A new female moves intot he house and has taken over. Her name is Molly.

November ?, 2006 Picked up a non-working Zaxxon. It has a better cabinet than mine and the original pistol grip joystick.

October ?, 2006 Picked up a non-working Missile Command Cocktail. Something else messing up my garage.

September 14, 2006
Showing the world how messed-up my garage has become

Look up that Savage Quest. Big hit with everyone
Have to work on that Omega Race, Sky Gunner is for sale!
Have not had race night on Suzuka 8 Hours in a while, Coney Island Rife won't fit in the house, Sea Raider number 2, no backglass

Pipe over pinballs went, CFTBL right under, MM and TAF on sides. Close call.

August 19, 2006 Zaxxon in and Fire Trap out

August 10, 2006 Indiana Jone comes home

April 29, 2006 Starting this update section.

Scott (Thrushguy) had a wharehouse sale / Swap Meet at Automated Services in Milford CT. Thanks Scott! It is becuase of guys like him that I have no room in my house. Good to see some familiar faces and some new ones, Scott (Thrushguy), John (Chuck), Chuck (SchifWare), Mike, Doug, Howard, Tony (Tron) and a bunch of others who probably got more sun than normal. I know my bald head looks like a red lightbulb.

To prepare I moved the Super Kixx Soccer game onto my back porch. Yes, I got that game from Scott the week before. I took the junk (formerly know as "furniture") to the dump to make room. At the dump what do I find? Yes, a working arcade game. Fire Trap by Data East. At least it says Data East but everything inside screams Atari (Power block with Big Blue Cap and AR-II Board). At the sale I picked up and Out Run Mini, Battlezone cabinet (my 4th) and a stack of boards. So here is a picture of those. New Arrivals

I want to start keeping this What's New section and keeping it fresh. If these event become regular events I will bring a camera and maybe setup a decent web page. In the meantime I guess I will just documents what changes with my collection.
